My dream home is an old castle in France. There are at least thirty rooms in it. It has three floors.
There is a big sitting room and dining room on the ground floor. It must have a very large window on the ground floor. I can look out of the window.
There are six bedrooms on the first floor. Maybe my good friends can live in the rooms. There is a bathroom in each bedroom. I would like my friends to have a shower or a bath in my castle.
There is a special room on the second floor. I can put all my clothes in the room. The room must be next to my bedroom. There is a big bed in my own bedroom. It is two meters long, because I love to sleep. There is a bathroom in my bedroom.
There is a very large garden outside my house. I can have breakfast in this garden. I can have parties in it. The garden is like a park. There are many kinds of flowers and trees in it. In the centre of the garden, there is a wooden swing. I can play on it.
This is my dream home. It is a nice dream.

During the Spring Festival, every household has its lights on. The street is full of "the smell of the year".
A few days before the New Years eve, people were busy buying New Years goods. The supermarket is crowded with people, people choose the goods they need, crowded out of breath, and my mother and I have selected some food and daily necessities for the evening meal.
On New Years eve, there was a deafening sound of firecrackers outside the window. The children were beaming with joy. They were carrying red envelopes and wearing new clothes to go with their father and mother. Our family went to visit our uncle and aunt, and there I received thousands of dollars! I wish you good health, long life and good luck. My uncle and aunt laughed and laughed.
On New Years eve, the sky is full of colorful fireworks. People lit the fire, and after a few seconds, the fireworks burst into the sky. With the sound of "bang", the fireworks spread like a flower, some like thousands of small meteors scattered, some like the peacock open the screen of beauty, and others like flowers blooming. The fireworks add to the beauty of the city sky. People eat delicious New Years eve dinner and watch the Spring Festival gala. Our family was sitting around the table, enjoying the evening meal, and the flavor of Chinese New Year was even stronger.

Store owners are busy then as everybody goes out to purchase necessities for the New Year. Materials not only include edible oil, rice, flour, chicken, duck, fish and meat, but also fruit, candies and kinds of nuts. What's more, various decorations, new clothes and shoes for the children as well as gifts for the elderly, friends and relatives, are all on the list of purchasing.
Before the New Year comes, the people completely clean the indoors and outdoors of their homes as well as their clothes, bedclothes and all their utensils.
Then people begin decorating their clean rooms featuring an atmosphere of rejoicing and festivity. All the door panels will be pasted with Spring Festival couplets, highlighting Chinese calligraphy with black characters on red paper. The content varies from house owners' wishes for a bright future to good luck for the New Year. Also, pictures of the god of doors and wealth will be posted on front doors to ward off evil spirits and welcome peace and abundance.

Christmas, annual Christian holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Most members of the Roman Catholic Church and followers of Protestantism celebrate Christmas on December 25, and many celebrate on the evening of December 24 as well. Members of the Eastern Orthodox Church usually delay their most important seasonal ceremonies until January 6, when they celebrate Epiphany, a commemoration of the baptism of Jesus. Epiphany also traditionally commemorates the arrival of the Three Wise Men of the East in Bethlehem (near Jerusalem, Israel), where they adored the infant Jesus and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The official Christmas season, popularly known as either Christmastide or the Twelve Days of Christmas, extends from the anniversary of Christ’s birth on December 25 to the feast of Epiphany on January 6.
Christmas is based on the story of Jesus’ birth as described in the Gospel according to Matthew (see Matthew 1:18-2:12) and the Gospel according to Luke (see Luke 1:26-56). Roman Catholics first celebrated Christmas, then known as the Feast of the Nativity, as early as 336 ad. The word Christmas entered the English language sometime around 1050 as the Old English phrase Christes maesse, meaning “festival of Christ.” Scholars believe the frequently used shortened form of Christmas—Xmas—may have come into use in the 13th century. The X stands for the Greek letter chi, an abbreviation of Khristos (Christ), and also represents the cross on which Jesus was crucified.
